Longwood Tennis Clinic

The Longwood University Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams are hosting a Community Tennis Day on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. on the Longwood Tennis courts in Farmville. There will be a Kid’s Clinic and Play. The event is open to students in 8th grade and below.

Cumberland 4H

On Saturday, October 17th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cumberland 4-H will offer an Introduction to Crochet FunShop for individuals 9 years of age and older. This FunShop will be held at the Cumberland Extension Office Basement. The cost is $7.00. Please pack a snack or light lunch. Each participant will receive a skein of yarn and a crochet hook to take home and continue this new hobby. There also is a possibility that we can meet on a regular basis if there is an interest. We will learn to  make a Grannie Square. Check out the picture below. After learning this one technique, you can make all kinds of projects from scarves to blankets. CCES hosted our first PBIS Buy-in event, Tuesday, September 8, 2015!

Be sure to ask your student if he/she chose to participate. This was one of many activities where students use Duke Dollars earned at school to participate.
