LITTLE DUKE LEADERS
The Little Duke leaders is a group of elementary students who were selected by the teachers for showing leadership and "Duke Pride". They will be participating in community service projects (the students will choose the projects they will work on) in an effort to make a difference in their community. The idea for the group was one of our 1st grade students and she is one of the founding members.
CELEBRATING 44 YEARS!!!!!
CCES surprised Mrs. Lucy Barley for 44 years of service to Cumberland County Public Schools. Throughout the school, fond memories and thank you notes decorated the halls celebrating Mrs. Barley's career. The day was top off with cake (including a special one for Mrs. Barley ...double chocolate!!) A big thank you to Mrs. Gills for organizing this and helping to make it a special day for Mrs. Barley and CCES

ON Friday, November 15th, CCES participated in the 'Book it" challenge. This national program challenged Administrators to read all day, post their experiences, and have a chance to win great prizes for CCES. Mrs. Gills took on this challenge and transformed our stage into a living room ..... Mrs. Gills and students from all grades participated in this day long event. We even had special guest readers stop by!!! Dr. Amy Griffin, Superintendent and Mrs. Eurika Tyree, School Board Member from district 3 both came by and read with our students.
